08-09-15 - Week 32 - And you expected something NU???  Yeah, Right!  Guess if I'm going to have a BIG yardage score this year - I had best get busy!  Once again - nothing added!  Not a lot used - at least not enough to complete a flimsy, nor anything sewn into an outfit either (not sure whether I will count that or not!  NOT counting scraps I use as rags however!)

Oh yeah - the cartoon above just about pictures how I feel - I popped my knee out of joint last June - and it has been SOOOOOOOOO much fun ever since!  I went to the ER last week because it hurt so badly (usually popping it out of joint does NOT hurt a lot - once the intial pop is done!  THIS HURTS!).  The diagnosis? Yup, I had popped the knee out of joint (for this I could have saved my $$$) - and I also had sciatica pain AND arthritis (severely).  This I already knew!  But now I can maybe get a back brace, and physical therapy.  Not that I truly wanted either one!  Just want this stupid dumb knee to stay IN JOINT and for it to not hurt!

07-26-15 - Week 30 - Nothing new!  STILL!!!!  I've been trying to clean while babysitting AWAY from home (babysitting AT home is a LOT easier - and I can clean then - but not when I'm not here!)  As for my studies - ugh - hate to even think of that!  Quilting - so many plans/so much fabric/so nothing done!!!!  AGAIN!!!!  STILL!!!!

07-12-15 - Week 28 - AGAIN - No finishes - drat it!  Maybe today......  NOT counting new batting as fabric though!

You know how when you plan something that life has a way of laughing up its sleeve?  Yup!  It happened!  I've been in a state of grandmother delight - babysitting my grandson while my daughter in law was trying to recuperate from a combination of nasty concussion and the sinus infection from He!! !!!  Have had a wonderful time - and DID have time to actually quilt/clean house/do other stuff - if only I could have stayed awake!  

I DID manage to pull out a LOT of stuff (paperwork), more paperwork, my sewing projects, more paperwork yet, and thoroughly discombobulate any and all sense of almost order that ever existed (if any!).  this week I'm trying to back track and get it all either (1) put away, or (2) more likely, stashed in any neat hiding places that I wish I had!

I DID manage to work on my sewing room though - and pictures would be wonderful - if only the world was ready for that!  Let's just say that it resembled the aftermath of a war zone! And now, after concerted effort, it has managed to de-escalate to a rather unfortunate resemblance to several major battles!

06-28-15 - Week 26 - Urgh!  STILL no quilt finishes this week!  Of course,I DID keep being distracted - and started 3 other NEW projects!  But only because I truly do NOT like pressing - at least not until I'm actually doing it!  AND I did get into my scrap basket AND scrap box (well, one of them anyway!) and DID re-purpose, toss, use up at least a half basket's work of scraps!  NEW ones (including some I had barely started before this week) include Virginia Bound (with gold, browns and red strips and a spice of green), a pineapple thingy, and a courthouse steps thingy!)  Now that I've gotten THOSE started, I can take a deep breath and get back to the stuff I was supposed to do anyway!

Stash Report - Week 23 - 06-07-15 OR 4 FQ, 1 yard WOW and a discussion about buying a quilt shop

I needed some WOW (white on white fabric) and some Aqua - at least that was my "rational lie" that I told myself - so I went to the LQS.  While there (First thing out of my mouth) I expressed my sadness that the shop would close its doors by this time next year.  Inquiring further, I discussed the particulars of the quilt shop (I have several thoughts in mind and definitely would want to invest in it - if at all possible) and definitely do not consider it unreachable - particularly for the very going concern that I know this to be.  So - I'm thinking about it - strongly!

As for the WOW, etc. - I bought 1 yard WOW, and 4 FQ aqua (out of aqua, definitely out of WOW - (white on white fabric)!) and am pleased!  It was HARD to not buy out all my favorite fabrics!  But I managed!

I could come up with some fabulous excuse - but honestly, I can't thank of any rational-lies - uh, rationalization that would be appropriate!  The reality is - I just didn't work on anything.

Well - almost!  That isn't totally true - I did add to the crazy quilt vest I'm working on and I have added more to the growing pile of square in a square thingies I'm working on (I need 120 - and have 80-90 so far, depending on how you count and how much you lie!)

But finishing....?  Nope - didn't happen!

And that has GOT to change!  For one thing (the BIGGEST thing, I'm thinking) - I am now #4 on the queen's list!  And I don't wannabe!  But I'm there!  Time to get going!

STILL  need to add the binding to the Log Cabin quilt, It's cut and ready to go.  Now to figure out what to use to support this big HEAVY quilt while I put on the binding!  As for the pattern for Spring's in the Morn (aka Spring is bustin' out all over!) I STILL have NO idea what the original thought was - BUT have decided to go with 9 patches and some blocks friends of quite a few years ago had sent.  May, as a result, go with the alternate name, since that fits better!  Saving Spring's in the Morn for something - probably applique.....

Stash Report for Week 9 - WB 03-01-15

This week I've been working mostly on Quilting my Passover Quilt.  The part for the walking foot is done!  However the part for the hopping foot (FMQ foot) is definitely not done.  Not that far off - and it COULD have been done - but it wasn't!  Honestly, my FMQ on this has been one of the funniest things, with angle this and angle that and wierdly shaped the other. I'm not done yet - and sure do hope I improve!  Although the biggest improvement may happen if and when I take a chill pill - if I can ever get one prescribed!  I have this funny thing - as I get tense, I start pressing down HARD on the fabric - which of course makes the fabric jerk and twitch instead of glide over the machine surface!  And no, I don't go too fast!  In fact, in a race between myself and a snail - the snail would win - hands down, every time!  Still and all, I am patting myself on the back for one thing - I am trying it - and I AM determined! (OK - that's TWO things!  I still can't count!) 

As for pictures - well, it isn't at that point yet - but hopefully I will get one up sometime this week!  the picture at the top was done with a walking foot - which still obviously needs a lot of that P word (Practice!)

Strictly speaking this is still my stash report - mostly because I have NO idea what I want to do for crochet or knitting or.... well, whatever!  Regardless I am hoping this is the year that (1) I get all those gazillion scraps categorized - light/dark and to heck with the mediums!  Medium depends so much on whatever else I am using!  (2) I actually am brave enough to not only use my walking foot, but also to do some FMQ - like a LOT of it!  Heck!  With over 85 quilt projects (2 table runners = 1 project because the TR are SMALL!), I've GOT to get some quilting done!  And, goodness knows, (3) there are soooooooooo many quilts I want to do!

However - considering that it is 02/22/15 and I am just starting up again - that is where I will start my stash report!  Including with the project I just finished this past week!

Oh - and I will be counting ONLY completed quilts - flimsy, quilting and binding - the whole thing!

Fell in love with some of the knitted patterns Judy posted this week - so will be doing some of those.  However quilting is and probably will be my first love (after my family and kitties) so will continue to either quilt - or goof off!  Other words - life like normal!  LOL
